Client Spotlight: Liz

Liz has been an athlete for a large part of her life as she played 15 years of competitive soccer, including playing at the collegiate level.

She now coaches a division 1 women’s soccer program, offering her skills to the field every so often. Being a competitor, Liz began CrossFit after she stopped playing soccer in an effort to remain as physically capable as she has always been. She has now been involved in CrossFit for the last 8.5 years and has recently excelled to the CrossFit quarterfinals.

Due to Liz’s athletic career, she has had back pain throughout the years. When she began CrossFit, she hurt her back and had to take a year away from training entirely. Within this time, it was realized that her sacrum was not moving correctly and the musculature around that area was tightening to an extreme point. Since then, she has been able to continue her career after beginning the recovery, maintenance process.

What Recovery Day Therapy worked for Liz:

  • Stretches and rolls out on her own
  • Proper warm-up
  • Chiropractic care to begin the movement of sacrum
  • Cupping to loosen musculature
  • Massage gun for those areas of extreme tightness

Liz is an athlete at CrossFit Crash and is now in her 5th CrossFit competition. When she makes it big, Recovery Day hopes to be her team of athletic trainers!
