CrossFit Crescendo Recap

This past weekend Recovery Day had the opportunity to provide care to some of the most elite athletes that we have had the pleasure of working with.

CrossFit Crash hosted their Crescendo event where teams from around the nation came to compete in hopes of punching their ticket to the CrossFit games quarter final qualifying events. These athletes were put through the ringer, with three events each day that tested their bodies to levels that many will never see. Recovery Day was there to offer our expertise to get those same athletes ready for their next event, whether it was in two hours or the next day!

The difference in certified athletic trainers from other health professions is that we are able to provide care quickly and efficiently, proving our abilities to getting athletes ready as soon as necessary. One specific example of being able to utilize our skills came at the end of day two. After treating part of a specific team for their ailments before the final event, one of the athletes that did not feel as if they needed treatment prior came out with seven minutes to go before he began. He said that his back started to bother him as soon as he got to the warm-up area and he was unable to do a handstand walk, which was an integral part of the final event. With just a few minutes, Joel was able to realign his hips with two distinct movements and then Katelyn took over with small muscle loosening techniques and mobility exercises in just four short minutes. Following the event, the athlete came out to tell us that he was able to compete to the best of his ability thanks to those short minutes.

Recovery Day is here to ensure that you can feel your best to perform your best, in any situation! Contact us to learn more.
