Low Back Pain and Hips

Low back pain is arguably one of the most prominent issues in the world today.

The back carries the bulk of our body weight and it is utilized in every single thing we do, from the way we wake up in the morning to each movement throughout the day. It is no surprise that eventually, the back becomes overworked, tightens down, and causes pain. Chiropractors (shoutout to our favorite Dr. Quinn) are able to care so much for these aches and pains but sometimes, when the muscles have tightened down to such epic proportions, it is critical to do muscle work alongside a great adjustment.

As athletic trainers, we are able to provide the complement to our chiropractic friends but we are also able to check and “realign” the body’s hips. After a long day of standing or an explosive movement in the gym, do you ever feel one side of the low back hurting? In those moments, your hips are often shifted and athletic trainers are able to adjust these back into place using your own muscle energy!

At Recovery Day, this is a service we often provide for those who are seeking help for their low back pain while also performing a release of those gluteal muscles. But we’ll get into that on a different day. Contact us for more information about your custom recovery plan!
