Recovery Read’s: Cam’s Intern Experience
At Recovery Day, I have experienced and learned quite a lot. Starting with my experiences here so far, everything has been a nice and smooth experience. Learning from Joel and Katelyn every time I come in is something that I will never take for granted. You can make mistakes, and they will not think of you any differently, and that is something that I love quite a lot. Being at Recovery Day for my internship, I know that every time I walk through the door, I am walking into a positive environment that is full of good times while also being committed to helping clients feel better and altogether, pain-free. The way everyone here can connect with their clients and have a nice bond with them speaks volumes about this place. When I see people walk in for their appointments, they seem so excited to be here because they know that Recovery Day is a place that cares about how their clients feel. I have learned how to do cupping, scraping, e-stimulation therapy, massage therapy, red light therapy, and so much more. My favorite thing that I have done so far would have to be cupping. Considering that I have done it to clients and have been cupped personally, I know that it is such a relieving feeling. I have also had dry needling on my hamstring to relieve tension. This is the best my hamstring has felt in years, and I owe it all to Recovery Day. I have even been looking at dry needling so I could get a good idea of the process of it. I never really knew how many ways there were to help people become pain-free until I became an intern here. I would highly recommend a student who is looking for an internship come to Recovery Day, it is a wonderful place with great people to learn from.
