Theraupeutic Exercises

When we said that athletic trainers were multi-faceted, we meant it.

ATCs are fortunate to be trained by some of the best healthcare providers in the business, from chiropractors to massage therapists, and yes, even physical therapists. While we would never step into the realm of a DPT, we are able to create small, customized therapeutic exercise plans for injuries.

Therapeutic exercises are the best way to help your body recover from most injuries, in the quickest manner. It focuses on restoring and maintaining strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance; these things can often be lost after sustaining an acute or chronic injury.

After proper evaluation to find what the problem or injury may be with a person, there are two concepts that every athletic trainer uses to begin creating a therapeutic exercise plan. That concept is said with a simple phrase “strengthen what’s weak and stretch what’s tight.” Strengthening weak muscles can aid in treating chronic inflammatory injuries, such as runner’s knee and biceps tendonitis. Strength exercises can also assist with the healing process of acute injuries to help the body push swelling away from the injured area.

Rehabilitative exercises play a critical role in helping the body be at its very best either after an injury or in a more preventative manner.

Recovery Day is now providing customized rehabilitative plans geared towards our customers’ needs.
